Jun 20, 2026 Leave a message

Jacquard Fabric

Jacquard fabric is created by interlacing yarns using a jacquard loom to form distinct patterns or textures. This fabric is typically woven from natural or synthetic fibers such as cotton, silk, linen, and wool. Jacquard fabrics are generally thicker and have a better texture than regular woven fabrics. Furthermore, it can be a single-layer or composite fabric, consisting of several layers of fabric.

Jacquard fabrics often feature rich patterns and textures, making them very attractive. Therefore, they are commonly used in interior decoration, high-end women's wear, and clothing for special occasions. Additionally, they can be used to produce home textiles such as curtains, cushions, sofa covers, and bedspreads.

Knitted Fabrics

Knitted fabrics are woven on a knitting machine to form a man-made flat fabric. This fabric is typically composed of yarns, and its special knitting process gives it better elasticity and softness. Knitted fabrics are generally lighter and thinner than woven fabrics and are ideal for making close-fitting garments.

Because of their excellent elasticity and softness, knitted fabrics are commonly used to produce close-fitting garments such as T-shirts, underwear, trousers, and shirts. In addition, knitted fabrics can also be used to produce sportswear, swimwear, and loungewear.

Differences:

Material Differences: Jacquard fabrics are primarily made from natural or synthetic fibers, while knitted fabrics are mainly woven from blends of cotton, wool, polyester, nylon, acrylic, etc.

Weaving Methods: Jacquard fabrics are woven on a machine, while knitted fabrics are woven on a knitting machine.

Feel and Appearance Differences: Jacquard fabrics are heavier and more elaborate in appearance, with a more three-dimensional and stiffer feel; knitted fabrics are lighter, more comfortable, and softer to the touch.

Applications Differences: Jacquard fabrics are commonly used in clothing and home textiles, while knitted fabrics are mostly used for making close-fitting garments, and can also be used to produce sportswear, swimwear, and loungewear.
