Functional fabric

Update:08 Jan

Functional fabrics refer to a type of fabric that has undergone special treatment or added functional additives, and thus possesses specific functions. These functions include waterproofing, fire resistance, anti-static, radiation protection, antibacterial, breathability, and warmth retention, etc., which can meet the special needs of different scenarios and groups of people.

1. Waterproof fabric: Achieved through coating (such as PVC) or nanotechnology, used in outdoor clothing.
2. Wicking and quick-dry fabric: Mostly made of synthetic fibers blended together. Through a special structure, sweat is conducted and evaporated, suitable for sportswear.
3. Antibacterial fabric: Incorporates antibacterial agents (such as silver ions) and is used in underwear and medical textiles.
4. Ultraviolet protection fabric: Through fiber modification or post-treatment, it blocks ultraviolet rays. The higher the UPF value, the stronger the protection.
5. Thermal fabric: By using heat-generating thermal fibers, special-shaped fibers to enhance the porous design of the fabric and adopting a multi-layered fabric structure, the flow of air is reduced, and heat conduction is decreased, thereby achieving the purpose of insulation.
6. Cooling fabric: It has heat conductivity, which can lower the body surface temperature. This is usually achieved by using cooling fibers or by adding heat-absorbing and moisture-absorbing additives such as xylitol and peppermint oil during the post-processing stage.
